- The Penny War made about $115-$120. I am still waiting to hear from Wilbur and WestFlo dorms about how much they are donating to the cause. Each of the EastFlo dorms pledged $10 which gives us a total of $145-$150 (I don't know exactly because the people with the spreadsheet are sleeping right now) for now. Clearly we can't use the money we get pledged after tonight for the challenge, but if we do get any more I'll let you know

- Penny wars was pretty slow today. The word really needs to get out! We did end up making $35, bringing our penny war total to about $96. We also have $30 from the east flo dorm pledges. I think I may have accidentally put us as losing $61.47 yesterday instead of making $61.47, so if you could let me know what our thing says that should be great. After this post we should have $96.03 (I have yet to count the house money).

- We spent the weekend brainstorming our ideas, and we finally decided to hold a campus-wide penny war. You will (hopefully) get an email from your friendly neighborhood RCC about the details. Today Dawn an I (Michael H) obtained containers for money from the dining staff at FloMo. I am collecting data from the team as to when people can man a table in White Plaza to collect donations from the students and faculty. We will hold the competition from Thursday through Sunday. I am planning to contact the entire campus by emailing all of the RCCs and asking them to forward the message to their announcement lists. Tomorrow will probably not be too eventful, so I may not have much to say, but Thursday's post should be interesting :). For now, peace out.

- FLYER
This Thursday, war will break out among the students and faculty of Stanford University. It will not be one of bloodshed or political ambition, but one of helping those in need. It's Penny Wars! From Thursday through Sunday, 11 AM to 5:30 PM, in White Plaza, there will be six containers on a table--one for each of the undergraduate classes, one for graduate students, and one for faculty. Every penny donated to your group's container will earn one point for your group! Every silver coin or bill donated to another group's container will take away points from that group equal to the value of the money (for example, a $10 bill will take away 1000 points!). Each day, the Gumballerz team of the Gumball Challenge will remove the containers and tally up the score. At the end of the weekend, the group with the highest point total wins eternal glory (not to mention the awesome feeling you get when helping a great cause)! Please come out and support Gumball Capital's microfinance efforts! Email any questions to gumballerz@gmail.com.
